Optical DS1 Extensions Using the DDM-2000
 The OBBF line card plugs directly into a low-speed card slot of the DDM-2000 and provides a single-mode, single fiber interface. At the subscriber end, the OBBFR terminates the fiber and presents 4 DS1 interfaces on RJ48C demarcation jacks.
The OBBF and OBBFR provide all of the same provisioning options and performance monitoring capabilities found in standard BBF3 plug-in cards including remote visiblity through the DDM-2000 Controller.
In addition, the OBBFR provides integrated OSP lightning protection on the subscriber's DS1 ports. Since the OBBFR can be powered from -48VDC or 24VDC, it is ideal for business or cell site applications.
The OBBF is also climate hardened, and there are no additional power or thermal requirements making it easy to extend DS1 service from an OSP cabinet housing a DDM-2000.
